PARKING LOT: DROP-OFF and PICK-UP PROCEDURE - Beginning Nov 1st

Parking lot:

DROP-OFF and PICK-UP PROCEDURE

As many you have witnessed (probably for quite some time now) the front of the school can get a bit hectic, especially in the mornings when dropping off students and on Thursday afternoons picking up.  With student safety in mind, it is important to establish and review Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures.  The staff at Tamura ask that all parents comply with the requests of the school personnel to ensure that everyone is safe and that the environment in front of the school is orderly during drop off and pick up times. Our top priority is always the safety of our students.  For this reason, and in hopes to alleviate congestion, we are implementing and reviewing Tamura’s Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures.   Please remember, on campus supervision starts at 7:45am in the designated area for ALL students.

Please adhere to the following rules:

Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the drop off zone (red and yellow zones located at the sidewalk curb directly in front of the school).

Do not get out of your vehicle to assist unloading students.

Parents are encouraged to park off campus if they wish to walk children onto campus.

When possible, pull all the way to the end of the loading zone to unload your children.  This allows for the consistent flow of traffic during drop off times.

Do not enter the staff parking lot to drop off students.  Additionally, it is not permissible to double park or wait for students in the middle of the parking lot. This lot is needed for Tamura staff as well as it is creating a dangerous environment of students running through cars.  There are a couple of handicapped spots available for those in need.

All students should exit your vehicle at the curbside, not the street side. This will prevent any unforeseen accidents with oncoming traffic.

Moving forward, vehicles will not be allowed to park, drop-off, or stop in any portion of the fire lane (the left side of the drive through) nor should they stop or drop off in the driveway entrances for the school parking lot.

Please be mindful not to block the driveways of the residents who live adjacent to Tamura.

Vehicles who continue to violate the drop off and pick up rules will have license plate numbers reported to the Fountain Valley Police Department for intervention.

*Please be mindful of the drop off and pick up procedure and directions.  They are in place to insure the safety of all students.
