The tournament featured three competitive divisions—Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced—allowing every student, from newcomers to seasoned strategists, a chance to compete for a trophy. This end-of-year event is the culmination of months of practice held during regular chess club meetings at our school sites.

Their commitment to providing a space for students to learn and play throughout the year has built a thriving chess community in our district. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the adult members of the Fountain Valley Chess Club for their technical expertise and to volunteer coordinator Mrs. Hong Phan and her hardworking team for keeping the event organized and the players energized with snacks.
