5th Grade

Fifth Grade Supply List

All the following items are suggested and will benefit your fifth grader’s academic experience:

Yellow Highlighter

Small Ruler (6 in.)

A pair of scissors

Red correcting pen

Black ink pens (not sharpies)

Small package of colored pencils or crayons

3-4 pencils

A supply bag/box to keep items in

And a Spiral Notebook

As an incoming fifth grade student, we expect students to have:

• A reading stamina of at least 20 minutes
• Memorization of basic math facts (addition and multiplication) which is the foundation of all 5th grade math concepts. (Seriously….know those math facts!  Flash cards are helpful!)
• Legible writing with capital letters at the beginning of sentences and ending punctuation.
• Some basic computer skills (Tab, Copy, Cut, Paste, etc.)
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
